What’s The Winter Project?

A hands on photography course, focussed on kids photography. You’ll capture your winter in 9 photo’s. During 3 theory sessions in November & December + a field practice, the basics of your camera are explained. But you’ll learn more: you’re getting introduced in the world of kids photography; you’ll create your own theme which leads to your Winter Project: 9 photo’s that reflects your family’s winter. For example: 9 photo’s with a hint of white in them. Or 9 photo’s in black&white, close ups. Or 9 photo’s all to do with your daily family routines. Or 9 photo’s of your winter holiday.

From mid-December  to mid-January there are no meetings, you’re busy to capture your winter! Your goal is to make 9 pictures that are coherent. We keep in touch through a dedicated Facebook group, via which I post (optional) extra assignments, we stay in touch via email and you can always reach me by phone for questions.

In January we meet one-to-one and you bring your selection of 9 (or more if you can’t choose) photo’s. Together we sit down and discuss your photo’s. So direct feedback, one to one, is given. I help with the editing and together we make your 9 photo’s fit together perfectly.

In the final meet up you all present your Winter Project: your 9 photo’s. You explain why you choose these photo’s, what your goal was, what my feedback was etc. I will off course also present my Winter Project, and give feedback on your work.

So: it’s a course about photography, it’s hands on, you have a reason to get your camera out of it’s bag this winter, you learn about kids’ photography and in the end you have 9 perfect photo’s that reflect your winter! And maybe you’ll make some new friends in the group of max 10 persons for this course.

BEWARE:
There’s less light in the winter than there is in summer time. Last year’s students struggled from time to time to capture their moving kids with the available winter light. So it’s hard work! When Spring kicked in, they found out that it’s so much easier to take pictures with more light… So doing this course in Winter time is learning it the hard way, but you’ll be the best photographer ever in summer!

ARE YOU IN?:

Yay! There are only 10 spots, so be quick 🙂
Drop me a note, and Maud will get back to you a.s.a.p.
